Obiettivi formativi

The whole teaching activity (lectures, labs and field activities) will be delivered in presence. In order to guarantee the attendance of the course also to students whose presence may be limited due to pandemia, lessons will be delivered also in live streaming on the Webex platform (without recording).

The course will consists of:

Lectures (38 hours), aimed at the delivery of the basic notions and finalized to the understanding of topics on genesis, geodynamic context, explotation, processing and enviromental issues related to the Economic Geology.

Lab activity (8 hours), aimed at showing mineralized specimens: the textures and mineral associations will be shown and discussed on the light of the geodynamic environments of formation previosly discussed during lectures;

Field trips (16 hours). This activity will consists of two days of field activities in old mining areas where the students will have the opportunity to verify their knowledges directly in field.

The material used during lectures (slides, pdf, papers) will be uploaded on web platforms Moodle and Campusnet.

The exam ascertains the acquisition of knowledge on the basic notions and scientific vocabulary by carrying out one oral test, which includes all the topics treated in the programme. The students will also analyse some minrealized sample and discuss  critically the ore deposit type, geodynamic environment of formation of the ore deposits on the basis of the mineral associations and textures. The students will aso have to think critically on the economic exploitation of the resources on the basis of the current techniques of mining and processing.

ATTENTION

In case of restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 health emergency, the exam (oral test) will be online by using WEBEX platform
